X2Sn-Sulfat Dosi...liquid dosing of tin sulphate in cement plants 2 Storage and supply of the raw materialsThe material is delivered in interchangeable containers. Two of these containers are transported tothe discharge station by industrial truck. The discharge station is specially designed to suit the typeof container ensuring that they can be almost totally emptied.Conveying the raw materials from the container to the dosing pumpsFirstly, a special agitator is mounted on each container. This homogenizes the dispersion before it is discharged and also assures that the consistency of the material remains constant during thedosing process. The discharge piping is connected via special adapters. A diaphragm pump isinterposed in the discharge piping to return the raw material to the respective container via abypass for the purpose of additional homogenization.These design measures ensure that the dosed material always has the same composition. Theoutlet adapters at the containers are monitored by means of a filling level limit value. When themonitor signals that a container is empty, the pneumatically operated ball valves installed in thepiping before the dosing pumps automatically switch over to the second container.After replacing the empty container with a full one, the operator acknowledges the empty signal,so that the system can go on operating in automatic mode.Dosing the raw material to the cement millsThe automatic startup signal for the dosing system is given by the higher-level control system whenall required enabling input have been received. The higher-level control system is also responsiblefor all setpoint inputs governing the raw material dosing rate in relation to the amount of cementproduced and the content of chrome in the cement. When the dosing process is started up, theshutoff valve at the feeding point at the conveyor belt supplying the cement mill is automaticallyopened. Flowmeters constantly measure the delivery rate of the tin sulphate and compare it withthe setpoint value.Any necessary adaptation of the delivery rate to the actual output rate of cement are performedautomatically by controlling the speed of the dosing pumps. Moreover, the pressure in the deliverypiping is continuously monitored. lf the dosing rate does not reach the required figure within a set time period, a fault message is issued and both the dosing process and the cement grinding are interrupted. There is a similar monitoring of the delivery pressure, with both excessive and inadequate pressure being possible causes of faults in this case. When the dosing process is completed or interrupted, the dosing pumps are switched off and the shutoff valve at the conveyor belt is closed. However, all the upstream equipment initially remains in operation.
